To do a trade with a draft pick you could always just create a "fake" player and name it Team Y's 1st Round Pick 1909. That gives you an easy way to keep track of who acquired who's draftpick.
Pierre's editor may allow you to drag and drop players. Not sure where to find it, or if this ability was available in the earlier released version.
