Back in 1981, with the board game, I matched Joe Louis against Floyd Patterson. Joe was defending his Heavyweight title for the 4th time. I turned the cards for Joe, my buddy turned the cards for Floyd.

Floyd was taking a systematic beating until the 5 round when he exploded a beauty of right cross right off of Joe's chin.

My friend, doing his Howard Cosell imitation, got in my facing yelling, "Down goes Louis, down goes Louis, down goes Louis!"

As we did a bit of role playing, I did a Louis voiceover saying, "Now I'm gonna get you."

Well, that was fine except for the fact that he never got up off the floor.

Patterson over Louis - 5th round knockout.

I too checked the cards several times to make sure there wasn't a mistake.

There wasn't.
