Basically what I want to do with my next project is run another tourney but with teams that you supply me. I don't want all the best teams of all time. I want those teams that you rooted for(or have a historical fancy in) and that just didn't quite make the cut. The only teams ineligible for this tourney are the World Series winners(So no 1927 Yankees and so on).
I will allow each forum member to pick up to
12 teams that they would like to see in the tourney. I will cap the number at
256 this time and the format will be a little different. Each round will be a head to head confrontation with a race to 10(best of 19 Series).
After I get all the teams, I will seed them based on their winning percentage in their actual regular season. So if you are intersted in having a part in this let me know.
I will keep this thread open for any suggestions as to format and to offer everyone a chance to list the teams they would like to see in the tourney. Please limit your teams to 1901-2003(I can do 2004 as long as it is in the current Lahman Database, anybody know for sure, I don't venture that far .
The deadline for adding teams to this will be after the last game of my 20th Century Tourney which will probably be around the end of October or so. So fire away if you interested. I will start a list of all the taken teams in the next post so you can view for easy reference.
I may also do something along the lines of owners' points where you get 1 pt for each of your teams that make it out of round 1 and 2 pts for each that get out of round 2 and so on. Just for something fun on the side to see which onwer did the best picking his/her teams. Of course this will be nothing serious since you can pick your teams in a first come/first serve type format.
