First, I'd like to apologize to all of my fans and supporters for a sub-par performance. I lost by a mere point on all three cards. I ate rotten fish about 3 hours before the fight and felt horrible. Not to make any excuses, of course. But that's the only reason I hit the floor late in the fight after getting hit by a body shot.
I was as fast as ever on the draw... but food poisoning had me firing blanks for the first half of the bout. I would have backed out, but I didn't want food poisoning and a 105 degree fever to rob my fans out of an action packed night of fighting. So I did my best and almost had him out in the last round.
But all the credit in the world to Finley. He fought the fight of his life against the "The Kid" who was only at about 15%.
But let's give him credit on a good fight, I don't want to make any excuses even though I lost by a point and lumped him up my rapid fire combinations. But no excuses. Lots of fighters fight with food poisoning and life threatening fevers. I'll be back.
And next time... these gloves will be fully loaded!
