WWBU Monthly,
Volume 12, April 1903
March was a month of intriguing match ups as the build towards the crowning of the Middleweight champion in April gained steam. In the highest profile bout on offer, German cutie Felix Friedemann would fight the tough Mexican Ruben Olivares. Olivares was looking to get back on track after being starched in the first round in his last fight against Jiro Watanabe. Also on offer was undefeated welterweight Sharmba Mitchell’s first test against the talented Billy Backus and in a Middleweight contest hard hitting Daniel Santos looking to regain his winning touch against the classy undefeated prospect Charley Burley.
