he A's Vida Blue was tough on the Yanks as he registered his 8th straight victory...He stymied the AL leaders on 4-hits, fanned 7 and had shaky control, walking 5, but still picked up his 13th triumph of the year...offensively John Henry Lloyd (.332) topped Philadelphia with with a pair of hits and 3 RBIs...a 3-run explosion in the seventh led to Goofy Gomez' demise. He was in search of his 16th win...New York has fallen in their last 4 frays...Blue also took over the top spot in the AL ERA standings 2.61 to Gomez' 2.63.
