With the OOTPB'06 being able to simulate multiple leagues throughout the world, it may be possible to simulate the entire modern-day world of baseball. While it appears that the game will come with "faked" versions some of the top international leagues, there are still others that are not included.

The goal of this project is to produce a realistic baseball world, as of 2006, for usage in OOTPB'06.

For this, I have come up with a list of 175 leagues and over 1600 teams, from throughout the world. Not included are any Major League Baseball affiliated teams, since there are multiple roster set makers for these leagues. The list of leagues is in the next post.

I am looking for researchers to help gather as much information as possible about these leagues, teams, and players so that a realistic version of them may be included in the game. To volunteer, please PM me with a requested nation, league, or team for research.

How will players be rated?
Due to the scope of this project, players will likely be rated by league-relative stats conversions.


Should there be a transactions/player status cut-off date?
Probably; I would suggest February 8th, the day after the Caribbean Series ends.

Why do you want to know about promotion/regulation or continental qualifiers, they are not in the game? While these options will not be in this game, they may be available in a future version.


What to do about leagues with no players?
Hopefully, there will be “grey players” in the game; if not, fictional players may have to be used, or the league will not be included.
