If Billy Pierce (2-4 4.35), Red Faber (4-6 3.53) and Gary Peters (3-4 3.50) had better years, they might have beaten the Yankees.
I think the Chisox overachieved in the standings. Frank Thomas, Eddie Collins and Joe Jackson really stood out...and Magglio Ordonez and Luke Appling had solid seasons.
