League: Liga de Beisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico (LBPPR)

Structure: One division
Roster Restrictions: Each team is allowed to have 40 players under contract divided into two rosters; a 25-man active roster and a 15-man reserve roster. A maximum of five imports (non-Puerto Ricans) may be on the roster. Most players are minor league or marginal major league players, some players may be Puerto Ricans from the Double A division of Puerto Rican baseball.
Regular Season: The regular season (primera vuelta) lasts 40 games with each team playing eight games versus each opponent. The league begins on the second Friday in November and lasts until early January. There are no series, although most teams play at home versus a two-game home-away set versus an opponent. Games are usually played at 7:30 PM, except on Sundays when games are scheduled for 4:00 PM. No games are played on Mondays, the fourth Thursday in November, December 24, 25, 31 or January 1. An exception to the no Monday games rule is if December 26 is a Monday, then a game is played on this day and on the following Monday. Every other Monday (beginning with the second) is reserved for making up rainouts as are the days leading up to the postseason.
Postseason: The top four team advance to the best-of-seven Semifinals (Serie Semifinal). The match ups are 1v4 and 2v3 with home field advantage given to the top ranked team (2-3-2). The round begins on the first Saturday after the end of the regular season. Both Monday and Friday serve as travel days. The winners advance to the best-of-nine Finals (Serie Final). The series begins on the first Tuesday after the completion of the Semifinals. Home field advantage given to the top ranked team and the format is (for the top ranked team): AAOHHH|OOAAOHH
All-Star Game: There is and all-star game played on the second Sunday in December, with the Saturday before as an off-day.
