Participants: Winners of the Liga Mexicana del Pacifico, Liga de Béisbol Dominicano, Liga de Béisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico, and Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional from the season before.
Location: The host city alternates between the four participating nations. In 2006, the series was played in Maracay and Valencia, Venezuela. The next three series will be played in: Carolina, Puerto Rico (2007), the Dominican Republic (2008), Mexico (2009), and Isla de Margarita, Venezuela (2010).
Roster Restrictions: There is a 25-man roster limit. Changes to a teams roster are allowed to be made prior to the start of the series. These changes are usually players withdrawing from the competition (to prepare for the MLB season) or by teams adding league players to bolster their team.
Schedule: The competition lasts 6 days long, starting on February 2nd.
Format: The teams play a two-game round robin, six games in total. The series championship is given to the team with the most wins. If there is a tie in wins, a tie-breaker game is played following the last day of the competition.
