Ron Guidry (1-2 3.75) breezed by the Browns on a 3-hitter, striking out 8 and walking 2...Ned Garver (0-1 7.11) caught the loss, giving up 5 runs in 7 innings...Joe Gordon (.190) supplied the power with a homer and 4 RBIs...St. Louis' Josh Gibson got his 3rd of the season, a 2-run shot in the first.
