Looking at his page... he can't run, he can't field, and he has taken a tendency over the past 3 years to strike out a lot more than when he was younger. I'd say he WAS clutch, but isn't anymore.
He was drafted first round by the Yankees in '95 and still plays with them. He used to play SS/DH and now is primarily their DH.
EDIT: He has a career AVG of .307 and OBP of .808.
