Tony Gwynn: Drafted by the Belfast (Maine) Blazers, 1st round #13, played from 1981 to 1994 for 5 different clubs. Won Outstanding Hitter in 1988, 1992, career cut short when he tore his the ligaments in his ankle in September of 1994. Inducted into the Hall of Fame. .348 career BA, with a VORP of 659.5.
Jake Peavy: Drafted round one, pick #2 in 2001 by the Calais Cormorants - the team he would spend his entire career with; Outstanding pitcher, 2003, 2011, 2012, fractures his elbow in September of 2016, ending his career. Inducted into the Hall 2016. Career 2.60 ERA, 3546 K's, 241-154 record including 2011 when he went 28-1 (in a five man rotation!). 900.5 VORP
