Crespa is their third baseman, he has to do more than hurry to get a hot grounder back up the middle.
The problem seems to be that the game doesn't associate [%game groundball location] (straight up the middle) with the [%game fielder] who will make the play--although it is in sync with [%game ball direction] (center).

If this is flaw is widespread, I suspect we'd be seeing lots of examples of it, and of its converse (middle infielders going for grounders hit down the line). Maybe it's only a problem when [%game groundball location] = "straight up the middle."
