not exactly sure how you are setting things up or what you are doing exactly, however pre-patch 2 this was a problem when you did the following.
create a historical league, then add other leagues (including fictional ones), and then delete the intial historic league. this seemed to always cause crashes.
the work around was to create a baseball universe with all the fictional/real leagues you wanted, but not to add a historic league if you planned on deleting/changing things in it. have the historic players import into whichever league you chose, and just don't check this option if you want fictional players in other leagues come draft time.
the downfall was there never seemed to be a way to have the historic players in the initial league draft (if you chose to have one). So if you are doing this in 1936, real players wouldn't come in until 1937's draft/off-season.
sorry if this doesn't help ir make sense, i worked a 12 hr day today and finally getting to play around with the new patch so my brain is kind of fried.
bottom line, if you create a historic MLB, you can't delete or edit it, seems to cause a crash.
