Notes From Tomato City - Round 2

Whew... the boys from New Haven barely eeked it out against a really tough team down in Brazil.

I was a little disappointed that Chuvalo lost to Dokes. He was actually ahead on 2 cards (97-93, 94-95, 96-93) going into the 10th and was stopped on cuts. He's seems to get cut up a lot.

Cobb/Mesi was a good fight w/ 2KD's each, only Cobb couldn't get back up after the 2nd. I chose Cobb b/c I was hoping he could stand in there and take a good pounding w/o getting KO'd too often.

Gardner/Foster: Foster almost ended it early w/ a KD @ 0:19 of Rnd 1, but Gardner managed to get up and returned the favor with a KD of his own in the 10th. Definitely a big upset - I pretty much had expected a loss here

Raadik/Antuofermo: VA was comfortably ahead on all cards (98-92 x 3) until the bout was stopped on cuts. VA was cut in both of his bouts. He seems to have the same problems w/ cuts as Chuvalo. Unfortunate.

Congrats to Johnny Greco: KD Oba Carr 4 times and KD Fausto Rodriguez 5 times. He's a tough S.O.B.

Biggest surprise for Tomato City: Mando Ramos is 3-0-1 (2)

Terry McGovern seems to be dominating the FW so far: 4-0 (4)

Quickest KO of the season???: Ruben Olivares KO Patrick Ford 0:42 of Rnd 1

Fritz Chervet is campaigning for the worst record: 0-4 (all by KO). He's only fought a total of 8 rounds so far...
