Oh! I completely misread it. A grammatical error - the comma after 2014 - threw me off. If you start reading after that comma, as I did when skimming that paragraph, it appears like a number should come after the word "season" (e.g. - season 5). Actually, that comma should simply be removed, and the "the" before 2014 should be capitalized as it is actually the beginning of a new sentence.

In the end, I believe it should read like this (and I really hope I have my grammar right here, otherwise, I come off looking like a jerk, don't I?):

You have offered 28-year old right fielder Timoteo Virula the following major league contract: The contract runs over 4 guaranteed years. The 2014 season is a team option year. The total guaranteed value of the contract is $82,000,000, which equals a value of $20,500,000 per season. Through incentives and options, however, the deal could be worth a total of $102,000,000, which equals a value of $20,400,000 per season.

Sorry for the confusion there. Hope that clears it up.
