World Universe BETA release

finally, after some weeks of hard work, the BETA-release of my world universe-project... since filefront is down somewhat at the moment I've put it on filefactory for now - you can find it here:

http://www.filefactory.com/file/0a7451/

What does it contain?
- cubbys mlb/aaa-rosters + dsl/vsl with accurate rosters
- following leagues with more or less accurate roster sets: japan (+nigun), taiwan, korea (rosters as of 2005), mexican league, serie nacional (cuba), liga nicaraguense, serie a1 (italy), hoofdklasse (netherlands), liga nacional (spain), bundesliga (germany), claxton shield (although made as a 40-game-league, not as a tournament), and the indy leagues: atlantic, can-am, aa, frontier, nothern, golden, united (as accurate as possible due to the fast changes)
- leagues with fictional rosters: china, npc (south africa, but both with the wbc-players included), ncaa (some real rosters planned for final release, teams/divisions as of 2005 since scheduling wont work with the 293 schools of 2006)
- winter leagues, although a little bit redesigned: arizona fall league (with players who reached high minors some years ago and are now out of baseball), dominican winter league (dominican mlb-,milb-players currently out of baseball), ven, mex, pur with players from the national development leagues (liga paralela, liga norte de sonora, doble-a) and some mlb-FAs from the respective countries
- cape cod-league (with the best ncaa div2/3-players of 2006)
- HUGE FA-pool with about 2500 real-life players (necessary due to the incredible ai that is feeding reserve rosters like crazy - 1300 FAs will sign with someone on the first day alone)
- all Hall of Famers from MLB and some more retired players for accuracy of the historical stats

all teams come with logos, staff and stadium info (staff not done yet for s-a,rookie-leagues and ncaa)
ratings are manually corrected only for the players on the leaderboards, all other ratings are based on the creation modifiers that work quite well in my opinion

Why a beta?
cause its not finished and it needs further testing... especially I'd need advice on the player development and the financial settings

Known issues
- crashes:
there are some crashes because of the huge database: schedule editor won't work, it crashes all the time (so schedules are all fictional basically, and unfortunately no way to change this); also the html-schedule/score-option is somewhat sloppy and crashes by time, better use the non-html-options from the main menu. Furthermore, don't be surprised if there are some freezes, but I've simmed two years now and it worked quite ok most of the time

- ai/playability:
* as said, ai is crazy regarding the FAs, it starts filling reserve rosters like hell right from the start - if somebody has an idea how to change that... would be great
* ncaa-staff is heavily overrated (due to the bad in-game-algorithm for staff creation), and needs to be changed manually - will be done for the final release, for now don't get confused if some weird manager signes an incredible major league-contract
* scheduling, especially ncaa - well, nothing to do about this since the editor crashes with the database
* player development is quite fast, some ncaa-players go through to mlb-regulars in the same season, although they start with rather low ratings - needs to be tweaked, so advice is needed

Planned for final release:
- integration of cubbys final roster-set after its release
- at least some of the ncaa-schools with real rosters and staff
- some tweaks (esp. player development, financials)
- perhaps some deeper ratings (perhaps somebody likes to work on deeper ratings for some of the leagues...)
