Dear Mike,
I wanted to take a break from my packing, so I thought I'd write to you quickly and tell you what a swell time I had on my visit to Minneapolis last weekend. The only thing that would have made it better would have been seeing you win that game you pitched against Louisville. All I know is that I'm glad I don't have to hit against fellows like you professionals!
I hope you'll be able to make that trip to Iowa City you were talking about this fall. I know the Lions will keep you pretty busy, and it's a shame we aren't playing Michigan in Ann Arbor this year.
One more thing: thanks very much for giving me your sister's address. I don't know how Mary Kate will react to getting a letter from a fellow she's never met, but I suppose there's only one way to find out.
I'll cut this short now, because I know you have better things to do than read my letter. If you have a chance, drop me a line back. I'll be back at school in two weeks, but I believe you have my address there, too.
Good luck with the rest of your season, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get a promotion up to Boston on the first of September.
Your pal,
Nile
