Driscoll cruises to 40th
May 27, 1911
Jem Driscoll (CH) (40-6-1) won nearly every round before scoring a TKO15 over Jack Downey (14/20) (14-8-1) to defend his IBF FW title for the 3rd time.
Driscoll was just a far superior fighter and this was a mismatch from the start. Downey's right eye started swelling in the 6, it was cur in the 8th. He was only dropped in the 15th and got up but the ref stopped it at that point. The cut was opened/reopened/worsened 4/3/3 and the bout was stopped 4 times to check it. Driscoll outlanded Downey on the average of 34-14 each round and landed 59% of his punches.
I had it 139-127.
On the undercard
LH - Charles McCoy (3/2) (31-9-3) TKO4 Billy Smith (52/53) (23-17-1) 29-26 (smith hasn't had the success at LH that I thought he would 1-3 since coming down)

WW - Kid Graves (16/14) (18-5-2) UD10 Cy Flynn (62/62) (9-12-1) (flynn at pre)
