I spoke too soon. I found two more files that may be relevant. They are located in Library/Application Support/MindVision. (MindVision is a company that makes installer programs on the Mac... maybe on the PC, too; I don't know).

One is a file of type "Unix Executable File" (which makes some sense since the Mac OS is basically a flavor of Unix). It is called "eSellerateEngine (Carbon)". I think if this file is corrupt it might cause a problem.

The other is a text file called "PUB0366109890". It seems to have the CD key in it, so that you probably should keep a copy of somewhere, if you decide to delete this one.
