Bug in stat tracking when teams switch league levels
I have a league in which there is a major league with full minors and a standalone winter league (which I actually use as an independent league operating concurrently with the major league). I am working with the premise that teams will occasionally move from one league to another. If a winter league team is very good, they might sign on with the majors in an expansion period. Likewise, during expansion, a minor league team might become a major league team.
However, this has not quite worked out as well as I have wanted.
I waited until the preseason, since I know that is when there are less bugs involved in switching teams around, and I moved one of the minor league teams (Brooklyn) to the majors. Much to my dismay, this made it so that all the stats by players who had ever played for Brooklyn to major league stats, even if they were recorded when the team was a AAA team. So if Joe Smith hit .290 with 25 homers at AAA Brooklyn two years ago, it goes on the record as being major league stats.
The same thing seems to happen for winter leagues.
Am I alone in having this problem?
