ML Pitcher of the Month Awarded to David Slater of Morgantown
David Slater is the latest Mountaineer League Pitcher of the Month award winner. The Morgantown starter delivered time and again last month and finished up June with a sparkling
6-0 record. In six starts he tossed
49 innings, posted
65 strikeouts, and put up a
0.73 ERA. The Morgantown Monsters certainly hope Slater puts more months like this one into the record books.
Slater is a student of the game. He does his homework on all the hitters, and it seems to be paying dividends this season. The 22-year-old hurler has recorded a record of
14-1. In 18 starts, he has fanned
194 batters in
151.1 innings with a
0.89 ERA.
