Yeah, I actually lived in Cottonwood for four years. Sedona was a beautiful place but not much for sports (except for maybe mountain biking).
I was a sports reporter for the Cottonwood paper during that time, and I remember the Sedona High football coach getting miffed that every year he'd have fewer home games than everyone else because they'd always take the football field and high school grounds for an arts festival one weekend in October ... That Friday, his game would have to be moved to the opposite site ...
