OOTP 2006/7: Running a league where only the commish has the game?
So, since OOTP is looking AWESOME for this latest revision I may actually pick it up (I skipped 2006 for a few reasons). Because of all these awesome customization features, I'm planning to run an online league for some local friends and family. This is a case where I WILL encourage people to buy the game, but my dad and a couple others that I'll invite are borderline luddites and I'm not sure they'd really have a handle on the technical side of the game.
Now, I remember that back in 6.5, between the website utilities and the less complex nature of the game, it was rather simple for a commissioner to be able to simply update teams based on the GMs' wishes (emailing in lineup changes, doing the draft via email or on a forum, etc.). Now, with 2006 last year (and presumably this year), it seems like there is a ton of other stuff to do (scouting, more levels of minors, more specific player development, etc.) that I don't know if it is possible for a league to be run without players having the game.
If it's possible, can you share some of your experiences with OOTP 2006 (and 2007, for the beta'ers) as to whether or not it's functional with just one player having the game? I'm OK with doing the work needed to get the league running and doing week to week stuff, I just want to make sure that it'll be functional (and fair) to play it that way.
Thanks!
