I had MLB.tv (or its equivalent) in 2004 and 2005 - it's great being in the UK because we don't get blacked out at any point and we get a choice at WS time because Channel 5 show it.

What is the deal with the blackouts in the US? Not being up on the TV market over there does it cost a lot (over $20 a month) to subscribe to your local sports channel? I recall that when I was in Boston and New York the hotel TV always had coverage of the Sox-Yankees match (I've been to Boston three times and New York twice and it's always been during a Sox-Yankees series though I've always been in the wrong city to see it if I would have been able to get a ticket that is). Is it part of a base-level subscription?

We can get MLB games on regular season TV but it comes on Setanta NASN and costs £15 ($29.50 or so) a month and you can only see the games they choose.

In fact as long as MLB don't sign exclusivity rights with a UK broadcaster we over here will get the best of these deals

Now do I go for regular or premium this year?
