Just an update as the game is getting close to being released.

With well over 100 new features, there may be very little for me to write utilities. Well, wrong statistic breath. I have several plans up my short sleeves.

I already wrote one program for my own pleasure. It is called LogoWatchDog. It is a program that runs in the back ground and as the end of the year comes, my program copies over historical logos. It takes about 8 seconds to do each year. So, you can run a simulation from 1901 to 1950 and when it stops, all of the teams have the historically correct logos. As a bonus, if you are using the almanac, each year almanac will have the correct logos in it. So, if you look at the almanac in 1925, you will see the Tigers with the correct logo.

I will be rewriting the Photo program to enhance the way OOTP adds photos. My program will check my server for additonal photos that I will be updating. My goal here is to have the most complete MLB photo collection available. Whereas I may have 20 pictures of Nolan Ryan and you decide which one you want to use. I also want to try to get as many pictures of each player that I can for different years. So, if I have pictures of Nolan Ryan from 1968 to 1975, my program would update your league each year, so that Nolan will age with the game. You would then be able to see Bonds head get bigger each year.

I also have a plan for more stat displaying program. Displaying stats that are not displayed in the game now. More reports that did not make the OOTP cut this year. More ways to look at stats. My HOF point program will be revamped.

One of the suggestions that I made was to be able to automatically do a CSV dump monthly and/or yearly. This feature made it and it is going to be very powerful for me. When turned on, it may slow down the simulation by adding a minute to it for each year and also use more disk space, but it creates some great possiblities for me. You could run a 50 year simulation while you are sleeping. Wake up in the morning and then get a report on a player's ratings over his entire career, month by month.

I also have a top secret project that I have been working on in my head. No details on it, but you will like it.

I do plan on taking a look at the cato situation. Mainly because I am tired of hearing that damn cato word. I plan on writing programs to enhance the online experience by creating more HTML reports and pages.

But, once the game is released, I want to take a week or two and play the game.
