Ok, I got it running under WINE. Here's what I did:

1. Install the game as you normally would.
2. After installation, find out where the 'user data' and 'application data' folders are.
2a. My appdata folder was in .wine/drive_c/windows/profiles/myname/App...
3. Create the 'paths' file as instructed in this thread.
4. Make sure that the user data folder contents get copied to whatever path you set up in the paths file.

After that, it should at least start up. I haven't attempted to play around with it yet.
