Not to belittle any of the work you guys have done, but here's a very small (about 62kb) program I found at download.com called Pixie:

The above screen shot is about three times the actual size. When you run it it is always on top, so you can always see it. Simply hover your mouse over any point on your screen (on a color you want) and press ctrl+alt+c. This will copy the html color code of this color. Then you can simply use ctrl+v to paste it on the field you want in the team options page. It's very simple and fast to use and you can use any color on your screen, which is great for obscure and fictional logos.
