This is my thought on how the fire started. Baronia is one great guy. If only he is our starting catcher, I'll give him a bonus.
ANTIPOLO, RIZAL – Everyone has their own hero. Most people identify their hero because they are close to them or because they are popular. But this time, it wasn’t the case.
Philam Baronia, starting catcher of
Antipolo Shootout, became a hero to one elderly man. They don’t know him personally – since Baronia just recently moved to Antipolo – and his not yet popular – but he would be soon.
It happened near Baronia’s apartment. The small fire broke out on a mattress in a bedroom. Three elderly people were inside at the time. Two of them made it out safe.
Neighbors heard someone was still inside and rushed to help. Then all of a sudden,
Philam Baronia kicked in the door and pulled the third victim to safety. Two good Samaritans suffered smoke inhalation. The elderly victim was flown to a hospital.
The fire may have started by someone smoking in bed. An investigation is underway.
Baronia suffered a sore knee and may be out for a couple of weeks.
