Brown Bomber Demolishes Jackson
Detroit - Young Joe Louis came to prove that he is the leading contender for any heavyweight title honours when he met the dangerous Ohio knockout artist James "Tut" Jackson here last night. On paper it looked like a tough proposition, but Louis didn't bother to read that paper as he took all of a minute and a half to totally dismantle the long-armed slugger from the buckeye state. Jackson may have landed all of three punches before Joe went to work. A couple of trip-hammer jabs, a left hook and two thundering right hands were all it took to cut Jackson down. He rose at six and took another right behind the ear that finished the job. Many in the crowd missed the spectacular demolition because they had turned their heads or moved to let another pass.
