Another idea
Have a hidden 'Fighter wear' rating
This would be a accumulation of the number of punches a fighter has taken, scar tissue from cuts, any injuries during the career, total # of rounds fought, # of times knocked out, # of times going up and down in weight and how often a fighter fought
This could be balenced against another rating that would be somethine like a career durability rating.
Some fighters like Sugar Robinson and Roberto Duran could seemingly put in hundreds of rounds and fight until they were 100
They were also good defensive fighters and save themselves some wear.
Other fighters with not so good genetics flame out soemwhat early or retire early after their bodies fail them and their skills nosedive
You could also have bad denfensive sluggers who get pounded fight after fight have slightly shorter career due to being hit so often and being knocked out more often.
Or fighters who begin their careers early and fight every few weeks their first few years as professionals and it catches up to them at a later date.
Or unlucky fighters who incure serious injuries in and out of the ring that come back to haunt them or have an immediate effect on their skills.
The possibilties are really quite endless
Each fight would produce 'fighter abuse points'
These would be determined by what happens in the fight and would be calculated against the durability rating I noted earlier.
Over the course of a carrer these points would add up and there would be certain thresholds having to do with the loss of skills.
Then based on the fighters personality ratings these would determine when the fighter would decide to retire.
If the fighter has a very hard carrer and hangs on too long and these points add up and begin to have an effect on his skills, the results could be messy!
I am really excited about this game and I have lots and lots of ideas for it
