Main Event

LH - Charles McCoy (2/CH) (34-9-3) scored a KO6 over Fred Russell (1/4) (20-9) to win the new IBF LHW title. McCoy has won a title in two divisions now.

McCoy was cut badly over the right eye in the 2nd round. It was reopened in the 4th and the 5th. Knowing that if it was opened again the fight would probably be stopped he took care of business and KO'd Russell in the 6th.

I had it 49-46 at the stoppage.

Other fights

HW - Ranji Burns (65/39) (10-5-1) (pre) stopped George Cotton (UR) (10-1-2) (pre) in the 9th round to ruin Cotton's undefeated record. Burns was in control early in the fight with Cotton coming on strong at the end. They both were cut and Cotton's got worse and caused the fight to be stopped. I had it 76-76 at the stoppage.

WW - Spike Kelly (UR) (11-0) (pre) held on to win a MD10 over George Milton (63/66) (10-10-1) to remain unbeaten. Kelly had a big lead but then ran out of gas. Milton had no power, otherwise he would of easily stopped Kelly. I had it 96-94, the official judges saw it 97-93/95-95/96-94.

LW - Battling Nelson (15/14) (28-16-1) KO7 Yank Kenny (79/87) (11-9) (kenny at pre)

LW - Kid McPartland (88/81) (23-21-4) UD10 Ed Jessop (97/102) (7-9-4) (jessop at pre)

HW - Mike Schreck (101/72) (27-18) UD10 Jim Savage (35/73) (15-4) (savage at pre)
