Excerpt from the Montreal Star...It was a thrilling scrap at the Garden in New York last night when highly touted heavyweight contender Jimmy Bivins met tough-as-nails Gus Dorazio in the main event. The two men battled every minute of the scheduled ten rounds, trading heavy blows with neither scoring a knockdown. In the end it was left to the referee and two judges to decide. Referee Arthur Donovan saw it for Bivins and judge Al Smith had it narrowly for Dorazio. The final word went to judge Nat Fleischer who scored it 97-93 for the winner Jimmy Bivins.
