After yet another awful start, Denver pitcher
Arden Hawthorn may lose his spot in the starting rotation. Hawthorn was handed a 3-0 lead after the top of the first inning, and proceeded to fall apart, giving up 4 runs in the bottom of the first, 2 more in the second inning, and finally, a seventh run in the 4th inning, as the Broncos fell to the Senators 7-3. Hawthorn lasted only 5 1/3 innings, surrendering 10 hits in addition to the 7 runs. When asked about whether Hawthorn losing his rotation spot was a possibility, manager John Wilkerson said that he was prepared to consider every option, as long as it resulted in more wins. Hawthorn said that as far as he knew, he was still considered a member of the rotation.
