UK/USA Challenge

Negotiations are under way for a series of fights that will take place in both the United Kingdom and United States. Each country will have 6-8 fighters at both venues. Our insiders have seen a list of fighters that the British Boxing Commission is overseeing. Here is what we have:

Jem Mace 8-2-0 (4)
Audley Harrison 14-3-0 (12)
David Haye 10-2-0 (10)
Herbie Hide 6-2-1 (6)
Terry Kellar 12-4-0 (10)
Bob Fitzsimmons 15-1-0 (15)
Don Cockell 9-2-0 (2)
Bruce Woodcock 15-2-0 (15)
Alex Stewart 15-4-0 (15)
Tom Allen 13-5-3 (8)
Lennox Lewis 13-1-0 (10)
Jack London 10-4-1 (8)
Gary Mason 15-4-0 (13)
Noel McCormick 12-3-0 (11)
Frank Rylands 13-2-0 (5)
Joe Bugner 13-1-0 (11)
Bill Chase 12-3-0 (8)
Jack Clansey 13-2-0 (10)
Henry Akinwande 7-4-0 (4)
Joe Beckett 10-4-1 (8)
Frank Bruno 15-4-0 (15)
Sir Henry Cooper 18-3-0 (15)
Tommy Farr 12-3-0 (5)
Jack Gardner 15-3-0 (14)
Willie Duncan 9-1-0 (9)
Phil Scott 9-3-0 (6)
Matt Skelton 5-0-0 (4)

The final decision hasn't been made public but there is speculation that some hot, young prospects may fill out the list. Three notable fighters include, Maurice Hope, Lloyd Honeyghan and the most anticipated of all, Joe Calzaghe. Calzaghe destroyed his competition in the amateurs and the U.K. masses are eagerly waiting for his public professional heavyweight debut. The pressure may be too much for the Commission to leave off young Calzaghe (4-0-0 4KO professionally).
