The Virtual General Manager League, or VGML for short, is going to move into its second season, and moving to OOTP 2007 as it does so. The first season was a success, but many did not have the time or could not move along with us to the new version of OOTP, so we're reaching out for new owners as we get the league up to date. There are empty teams in any situation you would like to adopt, which I will mention below. Some features of the league include:
- Scouting turned ON
- Posting of Japanese players (we will post the players that we saw this offseason in real life, which include Daisuke Matsuzaka, Kei Igawa, and Akinori Iwamura)
- Central American and Caribbean prospects that teams sign and develop, just as in real life, which makes the rebuilding process more interesting
- A very good and active core of GM's currently in the league (and we want more)
- No salary cap, or suffocating cash max limits that don't allow you to save anything
- We just finished the 2006 season, with free agency about to begin for the 2006-2007 offseason, giving you the chance to control the team you put on the field for next season
As you can see, this is definitely the time to get in on the action in the VGML, as we look to grow for our sophomore season and become the best and most desirable real-player league in the OOTP universe. The teams currently open in our league are (with 2006 record in parentheses):
- Detroit Tigers (86-76, 2nd place in AL Central)
You can check out the league further by downloading the league file and logging in under the "View Only (no team)" name. Here is the
link to the league file.
You can either AIM message me at ThaRyzinEnagy, or my co-commish at VGMLseattle, and we will get you taken care of. You may also PM me on this forum, or e-mail me at
elvinglara@gmail.com to sign up or for more information. You can also post a message on the waiting list if you are not able to reach either one of us (unlikely), over
on the forum's waiting list, which this link will lead you to.
One word of caution, though. This league has scouts, and so will require more of a time commitment than most leagues, but is certainly more rewarding when you lead the team to success. The question is: Will you be able to handle it?
