MORRISON ACCUSED OF ASSAULT
FOLLOWING EARLY MORNING MELEE

Newsagencies in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin are reporting this morning that 19 year-old International Boxing League Middleweight competitor Jake Morrison has been accused of assault following an incident early Monday morning.

The accuser was not named but he's alleged that he was out running at approximately 5.30am on Monday when he came across a man fitting Morrison's description. They exchanged words and eventually punches, with the accuser apparently suffering a broken nose and a fractured left cheekbone as a result.

Morrison found a deal of notoriety when he attended the IBL's Indiana selection trials in mid-June and is apparently one of the fiercest punchers that the IBL scouts at the trial have seen. One said that Morrison had been "mean and hostile to most of the people here, even us scouts" while the league's Chief Director James Molk described him as "sinister" and "scary".

"He really is ill-tempered, aggressive and nasty," Molk had said during the trials. "And I think the public will love him."

Chippewa Falls police will be investigating the accusations made against Morrison and it could be a number of days before they sort out the actual facts of the situation...
