Updated it today adding a new checkbox to 'check dumps'. This is for the people that have used my advice to do a yearly CSV dump. It checks those dumps and gives you some more stuff. For now, it gives you the most hits a team in one game without scoring a run. It breaks it down between home and away games. At the same time, I changed the year one to also break it down between home and away.
It also reports the RECORD low combined hit total for both teams. My record was 2, which was a no-hitter where the other team got only 2 hits.
The most hits without scoring a run was a 1-0 win by the 1942 Yankees over the Athletics. The A's got 14 hits in 14 innings and also had 5 walks. They left 18 runners on base. The game ended when Swanson hit a 1-1 pitch into the short bleachers 337 feet away for the walk off.
I sure hope everyone listened to my long ago advice to do the yearly dumps.
When doing a yearly dump, configure it (under almanac settings) to dump every year. Configure it NOT to dump the following files for speed.
Any item that has the word HISTORY in it or the word CAREER in it, DO NOT save those. That would be like team_history... or league_history...
Those records will never be used by me in a almanac dump, as they can be checked in the normal dump. It saves a few seconds each year. The yearly csv dump only takes 30 seconds or so, but, IMHO, it is a very smart move to save it.
NOTE: My program will work correctly and not error if you skip any years of doing a dump, so if you did not do a yearly dump for the 1st 20 years and then turned it off, it will work fine.
Only 2 people have commented on this program after it has been released. Please provide feedback on how it works or how to improve it or even on stuff it pointed out to you that did not exist. It makes me happy to see things like that, almost as happy as that paypal e-mail I get when someone donates.
