We trailed 16-2 at halftime and it only got worse in the second half. They were too enthusiastic and aggressive for us, really just blew us off the park with some fantastic attacking play and concrete wall defense.
Been four weeks since my last Tigers update. We've gone 2-2 since.

In week thirteen we defeated the Newcastle Knights 33-14, although it was much tougher than the final score indicates as we were trailing 14-12 with about twenty minutes to play and led 21-14 with three minutes to go before finishing with two quick scores.

Week fourteen was a disappointing 16-14 loss to the expansion team Gold Coast Titans. Not disappointing because they're an expansion team, disappointing because we blew a lot of chances to win.

Week fifteen was the low point of our season as we were slaughtered 48-18 by the defending champions, the Brisbane Broncos. They came charging out of the gates and were leading 16-6 after fifteen minutes and 28-6 at halftime. The score was 36-18 with five minutes to go but the Broncos scored two late tries to blow out the final margin.

Yesterday in week sixteen we defeated the Canberra Raiders 22-16 in bitterly-cold Canberra. It was a great win for the Tigers as the Raiders have won most of their home games this year. The Tigers had to defend strongly for long periods, snuffing out a number of Canberra's scoring opportunities in the first half and then late in the game.

So after week sixteen, we're 8-7 and sitting in 5th place. Here's the standings with nine weeks left in the season. The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs:

1 Melbourne Storm 13-2
2 Manly Sea Eagles 11-4
3 Parramatta Eels 9-6
4 North Queensland Cowboys 9-6
5 Wests Tigers 8-7
6 Gold Coast Titans 8-7
7 Brisbane Broncos 7-8
8 Cronulla Sharks 7-8

9 New Zealand Warriors 7-8
10 South Sydney Rabbitohs 7-8
11 Newcastle Knights 7-8
12 Canterbury Bulldogs 6-8*
13 Canberra Raiders 6-9
14 St George Illawarra Dragons 5-10
15 Sydney Roosters 5-9*
16 Penrith Panthers 4-11

* Bulldogs and Roosters to play tonight to finish week sixteen
