Harris played a mix of Welters, Middle, Light Heavy and Heavyweights throughout his career. Best looking opponents were MW Mickey Brown(28-6-2,11) whom he won, lost and drew three fights with in 1962-63. he lost 10 round decisions to Benny Lee Bowser and WW Al Villafarra(28-8-1,4) in 1963. WW Marshall Wells(16-8-1,9) KO'd Alonzo in the 2nd round in September 1963 and Elmo (Tex) Henderson(25-18-1,15) Ko'd him in 5 in April 1964. He fought a 6 round draw with WW Babe Vance(25-17-8,9) later in 1964. In 1965 he lost to Jesse Bolen, LHW Orlando de la Fuentes(17-9-1,3), LMW Pauli Mahoni(14-8-0,3) and MW Andy Heilman twice. Harris did manage a 5 round decision over Billy Marsh in September 1965, his only win of note really since the start of his career.
In July 1966 he fought one time that year, a 4 round draw with a new kid on the block just starting out, Tony Kid Longoria. Harris fought three times in 1967 getting knockedout in 8 by Brian Kelly and loosing decisions to AJ Staples and Mark Tessman. The Tessman fight was a 10 rounder. Boxrec shows only one fight for Harris in 1968 and two in 1969. In July 1968, a 10 round decision loss to Paul Patin was followed in October 1969 with a 3rd round KO win over MW Dickie Willis(8-15-1,7).In November he lost a 12 round decision to Brian Kelly.
We next see Harris in 1971 when he looses another 12 rounder to Kelly, knocks out Pete (Ellison) Knight in 3, looses a 6 rounder to HW Lou Bailey and knocks out WH Ray Vega(3-21-1,1) in 4. A June 10 round KO loss to Brian Kelly finishes 1971. There's then a four year gap in Harris' career until he shows up again in September 1975, loosing a 4 rounder and drawing and loosing a couple other 4 rounders to a couple no name heavyweights.
