In my leagues, I've seen lots of 110+ win teams get beat in short series by teams who won only 85, 86 games. Which leads me to believe that in baseball, there is a lot of luck involved. On a fly ball down the line, only a couple of inches can mean the difference between a big three-run homer or a long strike.
This is why in one of my leagues, I don't even have playoffs. The regular season determines the true champion.

It could be worse (the luck factor). It could come down to just one game (like the NFL). At least series, I think, tend to mitigate the luck factor, which is one reason I like baseball.
Of course, you still have whiners in baseball (i.e. the better team didn't win), which I remember happened even after the world series sweep Reds vs. A's back in 1990. But it's harder to say that (with a straight face) than in one-game championships, like the NFL, at least.
