Remembering the Hall of Famers: Justin Ginn
2B Justin Ginn:
Justin Ginn was one of the first great second baseman in league history, making 8 All Star teams. He was a very good hitter for average (.320 for his career), and had excellent power(over 400 HR in his career and two 40 HR campaigns). In 2008, he won the AL Silver Slugger award, hitting .370 with 43 HR. He also had two very impressive postseason runs. He carried Knoxville to the 2004 championship by hitting .447 with 3 doubles, 1 triple, 4 HR, 13 RBI, and 10 runs scored in the playoffs. Seven of the RBI came in the final three World series games, as Knoxville rallied from being down 2 games to 1 to beat Pittsburgh in 6 games. In 2013, however, Pittsburgh would get the last laugh. Despite Ginn hitting .392 with 6 extra base hits and 12 RBI in that postseason for Kansas City, the Pirates prevailed in 7 games in the World Series.
Ginn wasn't all about offense, though. He did manage to win a Gold Glove at in 2003.
