After such a hot start in the first two weeks of the season, the Broncos were bound to cool off a bit sooner or later. That cooling off happened in the third week of the season, with Denver dropping three games in a row- one game to Miami and two to Tucson. They bounced back in a big way, however, pounding struggling Atlanta in one game and then edging past them in extra innings, to finish the week with a record of 12-5.
Alexis Vazquez hit a grand slam and drove in 7 runs altogether in the 22-8 trouncing of the Braves. In that same game,
Ellis Bolling had 5 RBI and
Russell Thomas had 4 RBI.
Asbel Fuentez scored 5 runs in the game.
Throughout the week, Vazquez kept up his red hot hitting, going 10 for 26 with a triple, 4 HR, 13 RBI, and 7 runs scored. He extended his hitting streak to 18 games.
