The Broncos finished off a sweep of the Braves by pounding them 8-2. They then took two of the three from the 79ers, despite
Kenny Pillsbury getting absolutely bombed in his first loss of the season in a 14-4 loss in the third game of the series. They closed out the week by winning two games against Green Bay. Although the strong week put the Broncos at 17-6 on the year, they lost their hold on first place as the red hot Tucson Diamondbacks have won 13 straight games and possess a record of 18-5.
Russell Thomas was the hot hitter during the week, going 12 for 27 with 3 doubles, 3 homeruns, 7 RBI, and 6 runs scored.
Alexis Vazquez had his hitting streak snapped at 21 games, but continued to hit well, going 8 for 18 with a double, a homer, and 5 RBI.
Joseph Swayze showed signs of coming out of an early season slump by going 6 for 20 with a double, 3 homeruns, and 5 RBI.
Ray Lockridge notched 2 wins in as many starts, posting a 2.45 ERA in the process.
