Honeyghan and Lewis fight for the vacated BBC title after Joe Calzaghe relinquished the crown to fight for the EBU title. Lewis is the former BBC champion and Honeyghan is the current #1 ranked BBC contender. Lewis starts off with a 16-12, 1st round. The "Ragamuffin Man" flattens Lewis in the middle of the 2nd. Lewis gets up and rallies at the end of the round, 11-10. 13-12, Lewis in the 3rd, 13-11, Honeyghan in the 4th. Honeyghan goes to work in the 5th, 25-11, and opens a cut over Lewis' right eye. Lewis is floored again at the beginning of the 6th but manages to survive the round. Honeyghan is in complete control and takes the 7th, 19-6. Lewis looks tired and his eyes look glassy. Lennox rallies for a 18-6, 8th. 20-1, Honeyghan in the 9th. 8-1, Lewis in the 10th. 18-18, in the 11th. Lewis down again in the 12th. Lewis down three times in the 13th and finally for good at the end of the 13th round. Lloyd Honeyghan overpowers the glass chin of Lennox Lewis and captures the vacant BBC Title.
