Denver @ Washington (9-17 defeat)
Denver @ Kansas City (10-3 victory)
Denver @ Kansas City (10-1 victory)
Denver @ Kansas City (8-7 victory)
Memphis @ Denver (25-2 victory)
Memphis @ Denver (7-3 victory)
Memphis @ Denver (8-2 victory)

After getting their heads beaten in by Washington to start the week, the Broncos rebounded to win six straight games, moving past Tucson into first place in the process. Along the way, they also bludgeoned Memphis into a bloody pulp. The game one rout was a 1-1 game until the bottom of the third inning, when Denver exploded for 10 runs, getting a two out grand slam from Lee Chappel. In that game, Tomas Sato delivered 6 hits, 4 RBI, and 5 runs scored. Russell Thomas had 4 hits and 3 runs scored. Ellis Bolling drove in 4 runs. Joseph Swayze collected 3 hits, 4 RBI, and 3 runs scored.

For the week, Alexis Vazquez, Thomas, and Bolling were the most prominent hitting performers. Vazquez continued what is looking like a career year by going 12 for 26 with a double, three HR, 10 RBI, and 11 runs scored. Thomas went 14 for 25 with 2 doubles, 6 RBI, 8 runs scored, and 3 walks. Bolling went 8 for 22 with 3 doubles, 4 homeruns, and 17 runs batted in. On the pitching side of things, Kenny Pillsbury went 2-0 in 2 starts, with a 2.16 ERA, and a complete game, while Robert McNett threw a complete game, 5-hitter, with only 1 run allowed.

Milestone Watch:

Code:
 # Career Hits H
 1 F. Mira 3826
 2 S. Serrato* 3812
 3 S. Piche 3770
 4 P. Sanchez 3447
 5 C. Romeo 3383
 6 D. Homan 3360
 7 F. Cobos 3343
 8 R. Vega* 3308
 9 T. Guerrero 3301
10 K. Bryant 3294

A little update on this. At 38 years of age, Santiago Serrato is slowing down considerably, with only 3 hits so far in the month of May. Still, he only needs 14 more hits. As long as he doesn't get hurt, he should still be okay. Ricky Vega, on the other hand, is 40 years old and doesn't appear to be slowing down at all. He's having an excellent season, so far. Even so, reaching 4th place is about the absolute best he can hope for in terms of hits.

Code:
# Career HRs HR
1 D. Murillo 691
2 C. Bohanon 670
3 J. Paras 645
4 R. Vega* 643
5 H. Abad 641
6 W. Byrd 639
Continuing the discussion of Vega, third place in HR should be reached very shortly, but second place would be a stretch, I think, unless he would play another season, which I don't really expect to happen.

Code:
# Career RBIs RBI
1 D. Homan 2255
2 R. Vega* 2238
3 F. Mira 2218
4 E. Quon 2214

As for the RBIs, Vega shouldn't have a problem reaching the top here. Barring injury, I could see him reaching Homan within two months, maybe even by the All Star break.

Code:
# Career Wins W
1 R. Padgett 339
2 R. Jordan 335
3 R. Mccomas 321
4 S. Narbaiza* 300
5 J. Poss 295

And with that, Segundo Narbaiza becomes just the 4th pitcher to reach 300 career wins. The two questions now are: Can he reach McComas this season? Difficult, certainly, but I still think it is doable for him. Secondly, will he play another season and be able to pass up Jordan and Padgett? Playing at least another season, and maybe two more, seems quite likely. If he reaches McComas this season, he would then need 18 to tie Padgett. Again, difficult but doable.
