The Broncos were due for a bad week, but unexpectedly, it came mostly during a 5 game homestand. The week started off well enough, with two wins over the Packers, but Green Bay was able to prevent a sweep. After winning the first game against the Tigers, things unraveled for Denver. They were blown out in the second game and lost a nailbiter in the third game. Finally, they concluded the week with a shutout loss to the 79ers.
Despite losing 4 of 7, however, the Broncos had plenty of solid performances during the week.
Russell Thomas was 13 for 29 with a pair of doubles and homers each.
Asbel Fuentez went 14 for 30 with 4 doubles, 1 homer, and 7 runs scored.
Mark Bakke was 8 for 26 with a double and a homer and 7 runs batted in.
Ellis Bolling was 6 for 22 with 3 doubles and 3 homeruns, 6 RBI, and 7 runs scored.
Lee Chappel delivered 2 doubles, 3 HR, and 6 runs batted in.
Joseph Swayze appeared to be starting one of his notorious hot streaks, with a 9 for 27, 2 double, 5 homer, 11 RBI performance.
