It was another solid week for the Broncos, as they finished off a four game sweep of the Royals, split a two game set with the Dolphins, and opened a series with the Tigers by splitting the first two games.
Asbel Fuentez won his second career Player of the Week award, by going 15 for 28, with 4 doubles, 2 homers, 3 RBI, and 10 runs scored.
Alexis Vazquez, who had finally cooled off from his hot start, started to heat up again, going 11 for 23 with 3 doubles, 3 homers, and 7 runs batted in.
Lee Chappel went 9 for 23, with 6 doubles, 6 RBI, 9 runs scored, and 4 walks.
Tomas Sato was 11 for 21 with 9 runs batted in.
Two players who did not contribute positively for Denver were
Joseph Swayze and
Robert McNett. Swayze, a player notorious for his extreme hot and cold streaks, has been ice cold lately. This week, he was a pathetic 1 for 20. Starting pitcher McNett wasn't much better. He made two starts for the Broncos, but pitched a total of only 6 innings while getting blasted for 13 runs.
