Suggestion

Scale park capacities for minor league teams as a percentage of the major leagues in a manner similar to the way league attendances would scaled in the suggestion in post #84 above.

Reason

To make setting up affiliated minor leagues quicker. The player no longer has to manually select lower and more appropriate park capacities for the minors; instead the values are scaled automatically as percentages of major league park capacities. The player would still be free to change park capacities in the minors after the league is created if they wish.

Priority

Medium.

The Proposal in Detail

As mentioned, the reason for and workings of this scaling is similar to that proposed for scaling average attendances. Below are the actual park capacity values for the 2007 season for each classification:
Code:
      Average Median Smallest Largest

MLB 46,396 45,400 33,871 57,545
---------------------------------------
AAA 12,472 11,336 8,400 24,000
AA 7,470 6,500 6,000 11,003
A-Adv 5,861 6,053 4,000 10,386
A 5,800 5,200 3,200 11,000
A-SS 4,859 4,497 2,600 7,500
R-Adv 2,888 2,500 1,500 5,000
---------------------------------------
Ind. 4,745 4,500 1,500 9,725
In the AAA minor leagues, the park capacity on average was 26.9% of the major league average, and 25.0% of the major league median. In the AA level, the average park capacity were 16.1% of the major league average and 14.3% of the major league median. And so on.

When creating the minors, such percentages would be used to scale the typical park capacities of the teams in the minors so as to provide for real-world like figures without the user having to do so manually.
